In recent weeks we have been studying the evidences that support our faith in God, Christ and the Bible. Some of our students expressed a desire to share aspects they have learned with you as well as tell a little about themselves and their walk with Christ. I believe you will find their comments interesting as well as exciting. With examples like these, the Church of Christ is in good hands as we approach the second millennium.

anna There are many reasons why I believe. I'm not one of those types of people who have to have an answer for every question. Like in Luke 19:17- "I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Little kids don't go by complex answers or in depth thoughts - they just believe. If I had to give a definite reason, it would have to be the apostles - especially John. They all had such great faith. They were all killed (except John) for the same reason, and they all went out strongly professing the name of Christ. Then there is john. My personal oppinion is that if someone is willing to be boiled in oil for speaking of Jesus, living through it, and still go on speaking of Jesus, he and His cause must be pretty real!

derekLife is tough sometimes, isn't it? Sometimes you encounter some very painful things - Death - Abuse - Drugs - Broken Heart - Betrayl. It all hurts ... It's all painful when it happens to you. (It is even more painful to the heart to be responsible for causing one or more of the events in someone else's life. Trust mee ... I know.) Each of the previously mentioned things has been a part of my life, in some way or another. I've suffered through intense pain and it always hurts. At one point, I let it break me to the point that I could hardly bare living.

For a time, I lived my life as a complete misfit. By society's standards, I was an out-cast, not worthy of a chance at life. Then, one day, two girls from my school, both very strong in their faith, invited me to come to their church. I went and my life turned around. The previously stated list of painful events ceased to haunt me, even though it was still there, and there was still a lot of pain involved, it was in the past, and paid for by Jesus Christ. Jesus died, not only for my sins, not only for my soul, but for my life... to change it! He could do the same for you. It doesn't matter if you've experienced the worst pain imaginable, or caused it for someone else, He can change it. All you have to do is let Him.

shara Prophesies - There are many reasons to believe that Jesus Christ was who He said He was. One reason is because of all of the Old Testament prophesies that was fullfilled through Him. There are over three hundred (300) prophesies and every single one was of them was fullfilled. The chances of only FORTY-EIGHT (48) prophesies being fullfilled in any one man is amaizingly 1 in 10(157)!. You can look up any three hundred of the scriptures in the Old Testament that was prophesied about Jesus, and you can find every single fullfillment in the Gospel's of Jesus' life. That is proof enough for me He was who He said He was - The Son of God!
